A TRIBUTE TO OUR PARENTS

Today, 1st October, is the Elders Day. Our parents are the biggest gifts for us. They spent all their life bringing us up, spend their life for our betterment, give us all their love and care. But, today, the behavior of a section of population towards elderly people is something to think of, especially in our country.
The number of old age homes are increasing day-by-day, and also the number of residents in it. Most of them aren't orphans, and a large section of them have more than 1 children. The number of elderly people literally dispossed off at temples and hospitals are really large. Whatever possible monetary gain is absorbed from them by their children and grandchildren and atlast, thrown away like this. Home becomes a prison for many people once they start depending on their children. The parents of the people living abroad are the ones who suffer from loneliness the most. They might be wrong in working abroad and earning, but they must think about the condition of their parents too. The only thing their wish, in the dawn of their life, is some happiness and peace. They long for a smile, but end up in an old age home, and loneliness becomes their sole companion.
The people who behave this way to their parents neither think of past, nor future. Past is when their parents sacrificed everything and struggled to bring them up and keep them happy. Their existance and the whole life is a gift from their parents. The future is that, their children will behave in the same way as they behave with their parents, if not worse, as they are growing up seeing all this.
I sincerely hope that all children do love their parents and take good care of them. Please keep in mind that, even if we conquer the whole world, it would be worth nothing, if we don't keep our parents happy. On this Elders Day, this is a tribute to all parents and grand parents. Wish you a happy and peaceful life with your children and grandchildren.
