Do We Need A Religion?

Most of us believe a lot in god and religions. Most of the religions and beliefs are thousands of years old. Many believe that god created the religions and wrote the holly books. But, actually, what is the truth? And do we really need religions?
God never created any religions. Only people did. When the people didn't have any guidelines to live a good life, to prevent them from doing sins, religions were created. The people who created them used the symbol of God to give more belief to the people about those principles, and instill fear in them, against doing sins. The holly books were also written either by the people who created the religion, or by his followers.
Religions have many merits. The messages they give are all good. The fear they create against sins, and the guidelines they provide for a good life must be appreciated. It has the merits of an association too. But, history shows us that, there has always been a battle going on between people of different religions. The religions become an addiction for the people, and they fight over it. Thats a major drawback of religions and the biggest threat to secularism. How much blood has been spilt in the name of religion!
Friends, think, God is nothing but truth, justice, peace and one's own mind. People worship it in different forms, but, all them whom they worship are the same, and even the worship isn't necessary. Standing with truth, spreading peace, serving people, and doing what we think is right, are the forms of worship that is required. We have only 1 god, we need only 1 religion, that of humanity.

WHY DO PLACES OF WORSHIP NEED SO MUCH WEALTH?

Places of worship are abundant in our country. A major portion of the Indian population is quite religious. Recently, the treasure in Padmanabhaswami temple, Thiruvananthapuram, had been explored, and it valued a lakh crore. Similarly, other major temples in India are sure to have such kind of treasures. Over all that, large sums of money are being collected from the public, by religious institutions, including churches and mosques, in the name of rituals or otherwise. These institutions are just exploiting the faith of the worshippers to the maximum extend possible.

Now, there are many places of worship with centralised a/c and other modern facilities including computerisation. Most of those are being renovated and reconstructed. Idols, and even parts of the building are being made in gold and other precious stones. Marbles and granites are being attached. Huge buildings are being made. When we take an average, crores of rupees are spent in each district every year for the development of these religious institutions. In some major temples, money is being collected even for entering the temple and seeing the idol.

Friends, just think, does god need all those facilities? No! All these are being done for the selfish deeds of men. Most of us don't realise. Why you need all these facilities to worship a god whom you believe in? And, for those who are in support of these developments, just remember the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "Worship without Sacrifice is no Good".
All these huge amounts are being spent, and all these treasures are being saved in a place where crores are starving for food. If this money is utilised for the poor, then, this poverty stricken country will be relieved of it for ever and ever. Don't allow these people to do such business in the name of god. "Manavseva Madhavseva". Save the money you spent in these religious institutions, and spent it for the betterment of the poor. You can't ever do a better thing than that!

COMMUNALISM IN FB

Technology can be used for many useful and productive purposes. But, we hear more about its misuse. Technological abuse is done in many ways. Recently, I realised how Facebook is used to create communal issues and differences. Actually, I experienced it myself in some groups. I am not telling the groups' name. When we hear the name, we would feel to join those groups, but, only when we join, we would find out what is actually going on inside it, and how different it is from what its name suggests.
FB is a very good social networking site, if it is used properly. But, some of the members are trying to promote their own religious propoganda through it. Some are even trying to create communal problems. Its quite amazing to find out the number of discussions, arguments and fights in the name of religions. They are just trying to establish that their own religion is superior than all other religions. Moreover, they are just trying to create issues. Even if we try to tell them the facts, they just ignore it and will carry on the argument.
Till recently, I was really proud that I am living in a society which has set high standards in the matter of secularism. I even argued with a person in FB on this matter. He told me that this state is moving on to a lot of communal problem, by 2020, it will be in its worst form, and communal harmony will be hisrtory. I take this opportunity to apologise to him. The way things are going isn't good for the secularism. A major portion of the population is sliding in to the poison of communalism.
But, it isn't late. Before the communal harmony is disturbed, we must act. We must try to make these people aware of some things. Believing in a religion or god is everyone's personal matter. All religions are equally good and are to be respected. Never argue or fight in the name of religion. Afterall, humanity is much more important than that. Never forget that we are all Indians. Unity in Diversity is our strength. Be secular! Be an Indian!

GANDHIJI & FREEDOM STRUGGLE II

On this Gandhi Jayanthi, when we look back, India has changed a lot from the time of independence. Gandhiji and the other great freedom fighters and patriots had lot of dreams about this country. We have grown a lot, but, i don't think we have fulfilled their dreams. They fought hard to win us freedom from the Englishmen, but, what have we done with the freedom that we got?
This democratic system has promised us a lot, but given us nothing. There has always been a kind of autocracy at the top of the Govt, throughout the history of independent India, which has reached the hands of Sonia Gandhi now. The value in the political system has deteroirated steadily. The situation when Gandhiji joined the freedom struggle and the situation brewing up now are quite similar. At that time, the main problem was the double standards for the Britons and Indians, and now, its between corporates and common men. The Britishers tried to divide and rule, to prevent a mass upraisal, and now, the two major political parties of this country trying to do the same, trying to destroy secularism, and take advantage of it during the elections. Corruption has reached such a level that, it seems it was much better at the time of the British rule. The members of the apex council, the Indian Parliament, are fighting against each other, and always tend to forget for what reason they have been elected by the people.
Its quite sure that the Indians need to awake and involve themselves in another freedom struggle, a revolution for the betterment of this country, to throw away this weakened system, to reinstate the kind of democracy our great freedom fighters dreamt of. I know that most of the Indian population has had enough of this system and want to protest. All that we need now is a leader, a great soul and leader like the Father of Our Nation, to bring us together and show us the path for a new India, an India where everyone is equal, an India where socialism is a reality. Lets throw away these capitalists and bureaucrats who are ruining this country. Vande Matharam!

A TRIBUTE TO OUR PARENTS

Today, 1st October, is the Elders Day. Our parents are the biggest gifts for us. They spent all their life bringing us up, spend their life for our betterment, give us all their love and care. But, today, the behavior of a section of population towards elderly people is something to think of, especially in our country.
The number of old age homes are increasing day-by-day, and also the number of residents in it. Most of them aren't orphans, and a large section of them have more than 1 children. The number of elderly people literally dispossed off at temples and hospitals are really large. Whatever possible monetary gain is absorbed from them by their children and grandchildren and atlast, thrown away like this. Home becomes a prison for many people once they start depending on their children. The parents of the people living abroad are the ones who suffer from loneliness the most. They might be wrong in working abroad and earning, but they must think about the condition of their parents too. The only thing their wish, in the dawn of their life, is some happiness and peace. They long for a smile, but end up in an old age home, and loneliness becomes their sole companion.
The people who behave this way to their parents neither think of past, nor future. Past is when their parents sacrificed everything and struggled to bring them up and keep them happy. Their existance and the whole life is a gift from their parents. The future is that, their children will behave in the same way as they behave with their parents, if not worse, as they are growing up seeing all this.
I sincerely hope that all children do love their parents and take good care of them. Please keep in mind that, even if we conquer the whole world, it would be worth nothing, if we don't keep our parents happy. On this Elders Day, this is a tribute to all parents and grand parents. Wish you a happy and peaceful life with your children and grandchildren.

KILLER PESTICIDE BANNED

Endosulfan is a pesticide which created lot of problems and diseases for people in parts of Kerala. Today, Supreme Court verdict came that, its production, distribution, trade and usage has banned inside the country. The verdict was on a petition submitted by DYFI. This verdict is really the common man's victory!
The condition of the people effected with diseases produced by this fatal pesticide is really disheartening. In those areas, people are effected by many mysterious diseases, children born with defects in different parts of the body, increased number of handicapped children born, increased number of cancer victims, children with cerebral palsy, and lot more.

The fight against endosulfan had been going on for sometime now. Lots of stirkes and protests has been held. Recently, representatives from Kerala, including Govt representatives had talked to the Central Govt about banning it in the country. The reply of the Central Govt was really interesting. They said, since this problem hasn't been reported, and no complaints have been lodged from other states, they won't be going for a ban. And, if more complaints arise, then the medical aspect of this pesticide will be studied thoroughly, and the option to ban will be considered. The Indian Prime Minister even supported the pesticide in many international events. The motive to support corporates at the cost of people's sufferings is quite ridiculuos from the part of our Govt.
Even in the trial in the Supreme Court, the Govt pleader argued in support of endosulfan. But, atlast, the people got justice. The people arn't sure whether the legal would be enough to prevent its manufacture and usage. But, neverthless, we hope its usage will cease, and lot of generations will be saved.
The Supreme Court, in its verdict, also says that, the unused quantity of endosulfan present currently in the country may be exported, with proper supervision and safety measures. I don't agree with that. We know the ill-effects of it. I don't think its right to harm another country knowingly. In my opinion, proper measures must be taken for its safe dispoposal. It must be eradicated from this earth for ever and ever.

SOCIALISM- A DISTANT DREAM

Currently, India is racing on to the third spot in global economic powers, behind U.S and China. But, 64years from independence, where do we stand now? Its true, India has grown and developed rapidly, mostly after the introduction of liberalization, privatisation and globalisation. Thats the beautiful aspect of seeing things. But, India has another face, a face with a big scar.
After the independence, India had opted for a mixed economy, adopting the better traits of both capitalism and socialism. As time went on, India has moved closer and closer to a capitalistic economy.  As a result, the GDP and National Income of the economy has improved rapidly. The economists will be really happy with those figures. But, crores are suffering from, and dying of poverty in this country. The percentage might have varied over the years, but the number has risen steadily. Corporate powers like Tata and Ambanis are growing leaps and bounds, finding themselves place in the list of the wealthiest in the world. On the other hand, crores of people are battling with life, to find at least a meal a day, struggling with poverty and unemployment. The population explotion has made things worse. On one side, Govt is giving the corporates subsidies, tax holidays, incentives etc, and on the other, the price of necessities are rising steadily, pushing the common man to further disarray.
Socialism has been a mere promise, just words in the Constitution. If the changing Govts had given any value to it, there would have been a much better balanced economic growth. I can't understand why the Govt doesn't increase taxes like wealth tax, corporate tax, etc, atleast in the case of major corporate concerns, and excluding the growing concerns, and adopt much more welfare for the actual needed. I know that equality in its literal sense is next to impossible, but still we must strive for balanced economic growth. Even if India comes ahead of Japan to reach the third spot in Global Economic Powers, we won't be able to be happy, because, even then, crores will be crying out for survival.

KERALA GETS ELECTRIC SHOCK

The Electricity Board has introduced a surcharge of 25ps per unit for the consumers using more than 120units a month. This will come into force from 1st October. Regulatory Commission had suggested to collect surcharge from all the consumers. But, the UDF Govt has done a 'big favour' by limiting it to those people using more than 120units. As a result, a subsidy of Rs36crores has to be given to the Electricity Board. This has been done to cover up their guilt in introducing yet another policy which will affect the people negatively.
We must remember 1 thing here. Surcharge had been introduced at the time of LDF Govt too. But, at that time, the Govt allowed to collect surcharge only from those consumers who use more than 200units of electricity, as a result of which, it had to give a subsidy of Rs54crores to the Electricity Board.
The people are already suffering a lot with inflation and price rise. With the rise in the price of petrol, the price of almost all the essentials will go up. Now, electricity charge has been increased. Next might be diesel and cooking gas. With that, the middle class of Kerala will be in the battle of survival. Its a real pity that the Govt is idle, and virtually doing nothing for the benefit of the people, gifting them nothing, but promises.

BISHOPS FIGHTING FOR ASSETS

First and foremost, this article is not to hurt any religion or community. Its just my honest opinion about an issue.
We are familiar about the Kolanchery church issue, and all the dramas played by both Jackobites and Orthodox bishops. In the name of god, they are just trying to exploit the people's beliefs and take advantage over that. They are making a simple problem too complicated. What is the major issue here! Its about the right to perform the rites in the church. Why can't they share it between themselves? Both groups are worshipping the same god, but fighting each other for a church. The ordinary people, the worshippers don't have any problem with that. Still, those bishops are making it an ugly street fight, with strikes, march and all things of that sort. Bishops crying before media and participating in all kinds of news programmes. Is this how priests should behave? They have filed suite in the court, and trial is going on. We can't even accept that from the priests.
Actually, the aim of these peopleis not the church, but various other assets that are attached with the church. Most people are not realising that. They are trying to make the believers fools with this drama. Aren't they ashamed to call themselves priests. I can't understand for what reason they need all these assets and properties.
There are many people who take advantage of the people's belief in religions. These bishops can surely be added to that list. Simple life and social service are just mere words for them. We must really be ashamed of them. They will spoil the names of some great social servants, who were religious representatives, but still, unlike them, worked for the society as whole.

MANMOHAN, VICTIM OF SONIA'S PLOY

The mask worn by the Congress leaders are tearing off. The letter which Maran sent our Prime Minister has come out, clearly indicating his knowledge over the corruption. Eventhough the Congress is not ready to accept further investigation in 2G scam, slowly, but surely, the truth is coming out. Are they still not ashamed, to continue the rule?
Our Prime Minister has got Doctrate in Economics, and he has been the Revenue Minister of our nation in the past. Surely, he must have had complete knowledge of the amount of corrution involved in the transaction, the loss it creates to the country. Still, as a Prime Minister, if gave consent to such a big corruption, crime, then what right does he have to call himself an Indian?
TRAI reported in the Supreme Court that there isn't any loss to the Govt in the transaction. When such a major loss of Rs176lakh crores is evident, how can a national agency like TRAI give such a statement in the apex court! The number of people, institutions and agencies involved in this scam is going on increasing.
The person behind all this is Congress Secretary who is silently trying to escape. All these people who have been accused, are just puppets in her hands, silently obeying whatever she orders them. Even if, legally, its not possible to punish her in this case, we, the people must punish, not only her, each of her puppets too. We should not bear this anymore. Its high time that we react. We must throw each and every one of them into jail. Throw this Govt out of rule, and let our nation breathe some fresh air.

CONGRESS THREATEN THE COURT OF LAW

The Vigilance judge who had been handling the palmoil case, has quit from that yesterday. He hasn't told us the reason. But, any with an ordinary I.Q can very well guess that. The Congress party, in the leadership of our C.M, who is an accused in the palmoil case, and and his watchdog, P.C.George, had been putting immense pressure on the judge. The judge too is a human being. How much pressure can he handle! And atlast, he quit.
P.C.George had filed a complaint against the judge. And after the judge quit, he is saying, he quit because of his guilt consciousness. Our C.M is telling he had complete faith in that judge. Anyways, these Congress leaders have great talent. Our legendary actors, beware! The person guilty in this corruption has the state in his hand, and is exploiting it completely. Even after putting so much pressure on the judge, so that he quit, they are insulting and abusing him. Every Govt has the responsibility to protect the law in the state, and this is what our Govt is doing!
The palmoil case has been going on for years and years. Thats a big drawback in our judicial system. Now, it was approaching it end, and the Congress party was on the edge of their seat. Now they have got a temporary relief. But, let this corrupted party remember, truth will never fail, one or the other day, it will come out, and then, you will not be able to face the rage of the people.

WE ARE ALL UNHEALTHY FOR OUR HEALTH MINISTER

Diseases are spreading like wild fire in Kerala. Dengue fever, rat-fever, cholera, typhoid, and lot more. I think the only person who is not at all bothered about all this is our own Health Minister. How can he blame him! He has to look after his daughters education right! He has spent a looooot of money to get her admission in management quota in medical college. So, where does he have time to look after all these silly matters!
He is telling, we Keralites are unhealthy, and the most unhealthy of the lot are dying. How dare he give such a comment! Even if it is the case, why on earth is he the Health Minister of the state? Such an awful lot of people are dying in the state. What will he do to compensate the loss of the families of the deceased. Another person who can involve in all these is the Chief Minister. But, he too is busy, running behind palmoil case.
This Govt is doing nothing for the people. They have completely lost the plot in handling this situation. The Govt Health Sector is in the worst condition in the history. Sufficient doctors are not available, medicines
are not available in Govt dispensary, doctors on roll won't be in the hospital even in duty hours. The poor people, the weaker sections, depend a lot on Govt hospitals. All these are directly affecting them. The Govt say they do a lot for the weaker sections, and all these are what they do. All the efforts that were taken in the past have been spoiled by this Health Ministry. Lack of cleanliness in public places is another for the spread of these diseases. The authorities are acting blind and deaf.
THE ORDINARY PEOPLE ARE THE ONES SUFFERING.

2G: CBI TOO IN CONGRESS PAYROLL?

The CBI, the department in which ordinary people had lot of trust, has proven that it is not trustworthy. Yesterday, it argued in court against the petition submitted for investigation against Chidambaram, regarding his involvement in the 2G scam. Reports had come the other day regarding his involvement in the cancellation of bidding. CBI is arguing that the sole responsibility is for A.Raja and the telecom ministry, and that, if Chidambaram is to be blamed, so does the Revenue Ministry and Subbarao, the then Secretary. The CBI is following the same path Congress went, of trying to put all the blame on the allies and wiping out their hands.
The point here is, if they are so innocent, as their argument, then why are they afraid to face an investigation? And, regarding CBI, why do they want to put all the responsbility on the Telecom Minsitry? Its quite evident that there was atleast silent consent from the Revenue Ministry, if not more. So, why don't they investigate against everyone and take further action!
We all know how corrupted this Congress party is. So, it seems quite evident that CBI is either afraid of this Govt, or they are in Congress' payroll! The question remains, is there anyone in the present ruling class whom we can believe! Absolutely not!

2G SPECTRUM: WHO THE REAL CULPRIT IS....

2G Spectrum case is the biggest corruption in the history of our country, including lakhs of crores. Investigation is still going on, and many have been arrested, including A.Raaja, ex- Union Telecom Minister. We had been informed about the involvement of many 'VIPs' like Maran brothers. It worsened the deteroirating image of UPA Govt. Congress was trying to escape with the argument that, they had played no hand in this corruption. Thei allies, DMK was the only party responsible for it. Yesterday, report came that all these were done with the consent of Chidambaram the 'great'! No surprise. The liars had made another lie.
Actually, who is behind all this? Think! Can you imagine all these will take place without the knowledge of the Italian woman! No way. Its sure like day-light that the woman is behind all this corruption. But I don't think the investigators will be daring to submit a charge sheet against her. All these ministers are puppets in her hands, dancing to her tune. Who on earth is she to rule this great nation! An Italian woman ruling India! Learning Hindi doesn't make a person Indian!
Corruption has become the face of this Govt. UPA Govt no longer has the right to rule this nation. Its amazing that there isnt a law or enough force to bring them down. Comrades, lets continue our protest, our battle against this dictatorship by the Italian, fight until we bring down this Govt.

IROM SHARMILA: GREATEST REVOLUTIONARY OF OUR ERA

Irom Sharmila, atleast some of you might have heard about her. Born into a middle class Mizoramese family, she is an ordinary woman and human being, like all of us. What makes her extraordinary is her will power to resist and to protest.
We all can go on fast for a day, or, might be two. But what about 3days? 1 week? 1month? Or else, 1year? Impossible, right? This woman has on fast, without even a drop of water, for the past 11years! The longest hunger strike ever in the history. She started her strike on 4th November, 2000, against Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA). It was enacted to curb insurgency in the state, but, it has contributed only in adding to violence there.
The paramilitary forces in Mizoram has been making it a hell to live in. Torture, disappearences, rapes, murders, extrajudicial executions, and what not! India has produced a lot of great soldiers and patriots. They all must be ashamed of this bunch. The ordinary people have been suffering between the activists and terrorists on one side and these forces on the other. And the Govt is acting blind to all these. The women marched to the Military Camp there, naked, with the banner 'RAPE US BLOODY INDIAN ARMY'. How many of us are aware adn do protest against all this?
The immediate cause for the commencement of Irom Sharmila's hunger strike was the massacre of 10 people by the army, including a 62 year old woman and an 18 year old boy. She hasn't seen her mother since she started the fast, as her mother doesn't have the courage to see her in this condition. The police arrest her frequently, and forcefully nose-feed her. Thats the reason why she is still surviving. But, even their force hasn't been sufficient to make this brave woman eat or drink. She has time and time again requested the President, Prime Minister, and many other authorities to repeal the AFSP Act, but never have they even bothered to respond or treat her properly.
Irom Sharmila Chanu, is truely, THE IROM LADY OF MANIPUR. She will be on hunger strike untill the AFSP Act is repelled. She hasn't given up to either the Govt's stubbornness, or the Police and Army's force. She has ignited the lamp of a revolution, a fight to survive. It is the duty of each and everyone of us to carry that light forward. If the Govt is not ready to serve the people properly, more and more Irom Sharmilas will come up, and they will not be able to stand it. This battle is still not lost, and this will not be. LETS JOIN OUR HANDS AND SOUL WITH THIS GREAT WOMAN, GREATEST REVOLUTIONARY OF OUR ERA, AND FIGHT FOR A NEW INDIA!

KOCHI TUSKERS: A MURDER BY CONGRESS

Its a fact that we never even dreamt of having an IPL team for Kerala. We were shocked when we heard the news about the Kerala IPL team. But, before even it took form, controversies began. All types of dramas were associated with it. Sasi Tharoor lost his minsistership, Lalit Modi was thrown out his chairman position, sweat equity share controversy of Sunantha Pushkar, and what not, the controversies never really stopped.
Yesterday, news came out that Kochi team has been terminated from the IPL due to breach of contract. Kochi IPL died. But, who murdered it? BCCI? Its owners?
BCCI has been utmost patient with this team. But, at the end, they lost the patience and terminated them, the cause being the non payment of bank guarantee of Rs155 crores by its owners. There had been lack of coordination and little battles going on within the owners from the time this consortium was formed. But, are they to be blamed for this termination? We must rewind things a bit.
Cochin and Kerala, as a state, dreamt a lot. With the formation of this IPL team, Kerala could have gained a lot, economically. Things could have got far better in the area of tourism. We could have gained lot more foreign exchange. There would have been lot more job opportunities and entrepreneurship projects. Morover, cricket in Kerala would have got a huge boost. Who spoilt everything? The party ruling Cochin Municipality, under the leadership of Mayor! When other states were competing to provide incentives for IPL teams, Kochi did everything to spoil it. They charged a huge amount as Entertainment Tax. They dint seal the match tickets in time to sell. They created all types of new laws and constraints to harm them. As a result of all these, the owners had to increase the ticket charge, which most people couldn't afford, and it reflected in the number of audience.
Do you know what was the reason behind this? The owners did not give 'SUFFICIENT' COMPLEMENTARY TICKETS to the 'honourable'(?)  Mayor and other Corporation authorities. They provided them with enough tickets, but the authorities were never really satisfied. And they harmed Kochi IPL and the dreams of Kerala in whatever they could.
The owners suffered a loss of Rs125crores in the initial year. They had had enough of Kochi and Congress, ruling the corporation, which 'helped' them a lot. The owners were desperately trying to escape from their hands with a change of venue, which was a bit complicated. And atlast, now, we hear that Kochi Tuskers Kerala has been terminated.
CONGRESS HAS SUCCEEDED.... KOCHI TUSKERS HAS BEEN MURDERED!!!!

A FIVE STAR POLITICAL DRAMA

We all know who Mr.Narendra Modi, the 'honourable' Chief Minister of Gujarath, is, the main person responsible for the 2002 religious riots. This person is under Satyagraha for 'Unity Of Different Religions, Secularism & Brotherhood'! Irony at its best, what else can we call this. This is what is called Ballet Paper Politics, and this is the form of it. Isn't he ashamed of the fact that after being resposible for such a religious riot, still he proclaims himself as a person standing for secularism. It is even more ironic that he is a major leader of a party which proclaims that only hindus are Indians. Morover, look at the place where he is doing the satyagraha, Gujarat University Convention Centre, with a/c and other five-star facilities. I believe, he thinks that the people have become lunatic.
The Congress party too, is playing its role in the political drama pretty well. Not far from the place of 'five-star satyagraha', Sankarsingh Vaghela and Arjun Modvadi, two wlderly Congress leaders have started satyagraha against Narendra Modi. Another beautiful drama by Congress.
Actually, satyagraha was a weapon which was slowly disappearing from the mind of Indians. Anna Hazare brought it back into limelight. It created such a huge amount of popularity. Now, the great leaders who were competing to criticise him and his methods are following his path, and using the same tactic.
We have now seen enough of political dramas. What we want now is actual service. Why are we keeping our mouths shut? Cry out for a Revelution! Be a Part of the Revelution!

Harthal- A Way to Protest

Most of the people are not fans of harthal. And most of them who like harthals, like it for a totally wrong reason, with a mindset of enjoying yet another hoilday. Yes, the problem is with the people's mindset. They are not aware of the need to protest in democratic country like India. If the Govt is let free to rule the nation as per their will and pleasure, without any sort of protest from the people, then I dont think there any meaning for just electing the persons who are to dictate terms with us. Harthal is not to harm the people, its the people's protest against the Govt. I know, violence and destruction are not the methods to protest, but, shutting up the mouth and sitting idle won't make any difference.
I accept the fact that the people lost faith in this because of its continuos usage. The political parties must be careful to use the weapons of protest like harthal judiciously. But still, the strike we observe today, its for a good cause. Its not for a single political party or an organisation, its for the whole nation, the people. Many may suffer due to loss of wages for this single day, but what will be the effect of the increase in petrol price? The auto and taxi drivers, bus owners, middle and lower class people with vehicles are the immediate ones who will suffer. But soon the inflation rate will go up, the prices of all the essential commodities will go up including rice, vegetables, etc and it will spread like wild fire. Just think of that long term suffering.

Petrol Price Hike- Some Crucial Facts

Petrol price hike- another nail in the coffin by the UPA Govt. Increased 14 times in an year, currently around Rs70/- litre, can you just imagine that! Congress is desperately searching for reasons to justify this. Most of them trying to put the blame on the Oil Companies. But who else did give them the power to decide upon the petrol prices! When they were given that power, crude oil was worth nearly $110, whereas currently it is around $87. They have increased the petrol price whenever theres was an increase in the global price of crude oil, eventhough, only 25% of the petroleum needs are met with foreign dependancy, but they have never reduced the petrol price even when the price of crude oit has decreased. The corporates say, the current increase of Rs3.14 is because of the drop in the value of rupee. Even if we forget the fact that it was a temporary fall, might be for an hour or two, for a fall in value of around Rs2, an increased price of Rs3.14 is just ridiculous.
The Govt isn't doing anything to control the prices. Petrol price hike will soon add fuel to the already burning inflation, & the Govt is sitting idle. The Central and State Govts are collecting tax of Rs30 for each litre of petrol. On one hand, they are providing tax incentives for corporate giants like Reliance(Rs1279crores as per source), and on the other hand, they are putting all the burden on ordinary people.
The Central Govt is asking the respective State Govts to forego the extra tax income available for them from the increased prices, but what can a reduction of Rs0.70 do when there is such an increase! It is being done only to transfer the burden from their heads.
We don't know what more to expect from the Italian woman and her puppets, so called Govt. Even their allies like Thrinamool and DMK are turning their backs on this issue. Don't know what right Congress has got to rule this nation. They can feel lucky that this nation is not burning in a rebellion.
We surely need a change of rule! A Complete Change!
